Micah justifies the coming destruction

¹But I said:

Hear, leaders of Jacob,

Isn’t it your job to know justice?—

⁴Then they will cry out to the LORD ,

He will hide his face from them at that time,

⁵The LORD proclaims concerning the prophets,

⁶Therefore, it will become night for you,

The sun will set on the prophets;

⁷Those seeing visions will be ashamed,

they will all cover their upper lips,

⁸But me! I am filled with power,

⁹Hear this, leaders of the house of Jacob,

you who reject justice and make crooked all that is straight,

¹¹Her officials give justice for a bribe,

Her prophets offer divination for silver,

¹²Therefore, because of you, Zion will be plowed like a field,
