Psalms 11

Psalms 11

1In the Lord I seek refuge;[#Ps 56:11]

how do you say to my soul,

“Flee as a bird to your mountain,

2for behold, the wicked bend their bow;

they have fitted their arrow to the string,

that they may treacherously shoot

the upright in heart.

3If the foundations are broken,[#Ps 82:5]

what can the righteous do?”

4The Lord is in His holy temple,[#Ps 18:6]

His throne is in heaven;

His eyes behold,

His eyes examine mankind.

5The Lord tests the righteous,[#Ge 22:1; Jas 1:12]

but the wicked and he who loves violence

His soul hates.

6On the wicked He will rain

coals of fire and brimstone; a burning wind

will be the portion of their cup.

7For the Lord is righteous;

He loves righteousness;

His countenance beholds the upright.
