Psalms 142

Psalm 142

Prayer for Deliverance from Persecutors

1With my voice I cry to the Lord ;[#Ps 30.8; 77.1]

with my voice I make supplication to the Lord .

2I pour out my complaint before him;[#Isa 26.16]

I tell my trouble before him.

3When my spirit is faint,[#Ps 140.5; 143.4]

you know my way.

In the path where I walk,

they have hidden a trap for me.

4Look on my right hand and see:[#Job 11.20; Ps 31.11; Jer 30.17]

there is no one who takes notice of me;

no refuge remains to me;

no one cares for me.

5I cry to you, O Lord ;[#Ps 16.5; 27.13; 46.1]

I say, “You are my refuge,

my portion in the land of the living.”

6Listen to my cry,[#Ps 17.1; 79.8; 116.6]

for I am brought very low.

Save me from my persecutors,

for they are too strong for me.

7Bring me out of prison,[#Ps 13.6; 146.7]

so that I may give thanks to your name.

The righteous will surround me,

for you will deal bountifully with me.
