Isaiah 25

Praise for Salvation

1Yahweh, you are my God; I will exalt you.

for you have done wonderful things,

2For you have made the city a heap,[#Literally “placed”]

the palace of foreigners is no longer a city;

3Therefore strong peoples will glorify you;

4For you have been a refuge to the poor,

a shelter from the rainstorm,

For the breath of the ruthless was like a rainstorm against a wall,

You subdued the heat with the shade of a cloud;

6And on this mountain Yahweh of hosts will make for all peoples a rich feast,[#Literally “feast of fat”]

7And on this mountain he will destroy the face of the shroud,[#Literally “engulf”]

8He will destroy death forever,[#Literally “engulf”]

for Yahweh has spoken.

9And one will say, on that day,

“Look! This is our God! We have waited for him and he saved us!

Let us be glad,

10For the hand of Yahweh will rest on this mountain,

11And it will spread out its hands in the midst of it,[#Moab]

12And he will throw down the fortification of the high point of your walls;

he will send it to the ground,
