¹Blessed is the man

who does not walk in the counsel of the wicked,

or stand in the path of sinners,

or sit in the seat of mockers;

²but his delight is in the law of the Lord ,[#Ps 119:35]

and in His law he meditates day and night.

³He will be like a tree planted by the rivers of water,[#Jer 17:8]

that brings forth its fruit in its season;

its leaf will not wither,

and whatever he does will prosper.

⁴The wicked are not so,

but are like the chaff

which the wind drives away.

⁵Therefore the wicked will not stand in the judgment,[#Ps 5:5; Lk 21:36]

nor sinners in the congregation of the righteous.

⁶For the Lord knows the way of the righteous,[#Na 1:7; 2Ti 2:19]

but the way of the wicked will perish.
