chapter five

¹everywhere hears one about fornication among you (PL), and such a fornication, which (happens itself) even not among the nations (of the world), that someone shall have the father's wife.

²and you (PL) are arrogant? should you (PL) not rather ought to grieve, so that the one, who did such a deed, shall taken away to be from your midst?

³because I, although distant from you (PL) that pertains the body, however with you (PL) in the spirit, have already judged, like as I would have been present, the one, who has this these so done,

⁴that in the Name of our L-rd Yehoshua, while you (PL) will yourselves gather together and my spirit with you (PL) with the power of the L-rd our Yehoshua,

⁵to turn over such people to the Satan for the destruction of the flesh, so that the spirit shall saved to be in the Day of the L-rd.

⁶your boast self is not good. (question) know you (PL) then not, that a small amount of yeast makes sour the whole dough?

⁷clean out then out the old yeast, so that you (PL) shall become a new dough; just as you (PL) are unleavened. because also our (sacrifice) Pesach has sacrificed become, the Moshiach;

⁸let us then so keep Yom Tov, not with the old yeast, also not with the yeast of evils and anger, but with the unleavened bread of purity and truth.

⁹I have (to) you (PL) written in a letter, that you (PL) shall yourselves not mix with with fornicators;

¹⁰yet (means this not) in general not with the fornicators of the world, or with the extortioners and robbers, or idolater; because you (PL) would then need to depart from the world;

¹¹now however have I (to) you (PL) written, that you (PL) shall yourselves not mix with, when someone, who calls himself brother, is an adulterer, or a gelt greedy, or a idolater, or a reviler, or a drunkard, or a robber; with such people shall you (PL) even not eat together.

¹²because what has it to do with us to judge the (ones), who are outside (of the kehile)? you (PL) judge yet even not the (ones), which are inside!

¹³the (ones) however outside will Hashem judge. clean out out the evil man from among you (PL).
