chapter thirteen

and I did see a Beast rising up out of the sea, having ten horns and seven heads, and on its horns ten diadems, and on its heads names of blasphemy.

and the Beast, which I did see, was similar to a leopard, and its feet, like of a bear, and its mouth, like the mouth of a lion; and the serpent had it given its power and its throne and great dominion.

and one of its heads, as wounded to the death; and its deathly wound has self healed; and the whole earth did look after (it) with wonder on the Beast;

and they did themselves bowed to the serpent, because it had given the dominion to the Beast; also did they themselves bow to the Beast, in this way to say: who is like to the Beast? and who can war wage with it?

and there is it given become a mouth, which speaks great things and blasphemies; and there is it given become power to do (its deeds) two and forty months long.

and it did open its mouth to blaspheme against Hashem, to blaspheme His Name and His Mishkan and the (ones), who dwell in heaven.

and there is it given become to lead a war against the saints, and them conquer to do; and there is it given become dominion over every tribe and people and language and nation. (Daniel 7, 21, 25.)

and there will themselves bow/worship to it all inhabitants of the earth, whose name is not written in the book of life of the Lamb, who was ritually slaughtered become since the creation of the world.

if anyone has an ear, let him hear.

if one took captive, will he go in captivity; if one kills with the sword, must he himself killed be with the sword. here o is the patient endurance and the faith of the saints.

and I have seen an other beast rising up from the earth; and it did have two horns, similar to the Lamb, and speaking like a snake.

and it did exercise power the whole authority of the first Beast before it and makes the earth and the (ones), who dwell on it, that they should themselves bow/worship to the first Beast, which its deathly wound has self healed.

and does great wonders, that even fire of heaven makes it descend on the earth before the people.

and misleads the inhabitants on the earth through the wonders, which were to it given become to do before the beast; and says to the inhabitants on the earth, that they should make a image to the beast, which has the wound from the sword and is (remained) alive.

and there is to it given become to infuse breath in the image of the beast, so that the image of the beast shall also speak, and make, that all, who will themselves not worship to the image of the beast, should killed be.

and it makes (to) everyone, the small and the great, also the rich and the poor, also the free also the slave, that they shall themselves give a mark on their right hand or on their forehead;

and that anyone shall not be able to buy or sell, if he has not the mark, the name of the Beast, or the number of its name.

here is the wisdom. who it has understanding, this one shall calculate the number of the Beast; because it is the number of a man; and its number is six hundred six and sixty.
