Micah 3

Israel’s Leaders Denounced

¹And I said,

“Listen, O heads of Jacob

²Those of you who are haters of good

who tear their skin from them

³and who eat the flesh of my people,

and break their bones,

⁴Then they will cry to Yahweh,

He will hide his face from them at that time,

⁵Thus says Yahweh concerning the prophets

who are biting with their teeth

but whoever puts nothing into their mouths

⁶Therefore it will be as night to you, without vision,

And the sun will set on the prophets,

⁷Then the seers will be disgraced,

All of them will cover their lips,

⁸But I, I am filled with power,

and with justice and might,

⁹Hear this, O rulers of the house of Jacob

those detesting justice

¹⁰he who builds Zion with blood

¹¹Its rulers judge for a bribe;

But they lean on Yahweh, saying,

¹²Therefore on account of you

and Jerusalem will be a heap of rubble,
