Psalm 11

Psalm 11

Yahweh Is in His Holy Temple

1In Yahweh I take refuge;

How can you say to my soul, “Flee as a bird to your mountain;

2For, behold, the wicked bend the bow,

They make ready their arrow upon the string

To shoot in darkness at the upright in heart.

3“If the foundations are destroyed,

What can the righteous do?”

4¶Yahweh is in His holy temple; Yahweh’s throne is in heaven;[#11:4 Lit Yahweh, His throne]

His eyes behold, His eyelids test the sons of men.

5Yahweh tests the righteous,

But the wicked and the one who loves violence His soul hates.

6May He rain snares upon the wicked;[#11:6 Or coals of fire]

Fire and brimstone and burning wind will be the portion of their cup.

7For Yahweh is righteous, He loves righteousness;[#11:7 Or righteous deeds]

The upright will behold His face.
