1Answer me when I call, O God of my righteousness![#4:1 Who maintains my right]
You have relieved me in my distress;
Be gracious to me and hear my prayer.
2¶O sons of men, how long will my glory become a reproach?
How long will you love what is worthless and seek falsehood? Selah.
3But know that Yahweh has set apart the holy one for Himself;[#4:3 Or dealt wonderfully with]
Yahweh hears when I call to Him.
4¶Tremble, and do not sin;[#4:4 With anger or fear; #4:4 Or but]
Ponder in your heart upon your bed, and be still. Selah.
5Offer the sacrifices of righteousness,[#4:5 Or righteous sacrifices]
And trust in Yahweh.
6¶Many are saying, “Who will show us good?”
Lift up the light of Your face upon us, O Yahweh!
7You have put gladness in my heart,
More than when their grain and new wine abound.
8In peace I will both lie down and sleep,[#4:8 Or at the same time]
For You alone, O Yahweh, make me to abide in safety.
