Psalm 64

Psalm 64

The Righteous Will Be Glad in Yahweh

1Hear my voice, O God, in my complaint;[#64:1 Or concern]

Guard my life from dread of the enemy.

2Hide me from the secret counsel of evildoers,

From the tumult of the workers of iniquity,

3Who have sharpened their tongue like a sword.

They aimed bitter speech as their arrow,

4To shoot from places of hiding at the blameless;[#64:4 Lit in]

Suddenly they shoot at him, and do not fear.

5They hold fast to themselves an evil purpose;[#64:5 Lit make firm]

They talk of laying snares secretly;

They say, “Who can see them?”

6They searched out unrighteousness, saying ,

“We have completed a diligent search”;

For the inward thought of a man and his heart are deep.

7¶But God will shoot them with an arrow;[#64:7 Or shot]

Suddenly they will be wounded.

8So they will cause their own tongue to turn against them;[#64:8 Or they make their tongue a stumbling for themselves]

All who see them will shake their head.

9Then all men will fear,[#64:9 Or feared]

And they will declare the work of God,

And will consider what He has done.

10The righteous man will be glad in Yahweh and will take refuge in Him;

And all the upright in heart will boast.
