Psalms 6

Psalms 6

1O Lord , do not rebuke me in Your anger,

nor discipline me in the heat of Your anger.

2Be gracious to me, O Lord , for I am weak;

O Lord , heal me, for my bones are shaking.

3My soul is greatly troubled,[#Jn 12:27]

but You, O Lord —how long?

4Return, O Lord , rescue my soul.[#Ps 17:13]

Save me for the sake of Your lovingkindness.

5For in death there is no remembrance of You;

in Sheol who will give You thanks?

6I am weary with my groaning;[#Ps 69:3]

all night I flood my bed with tears;

I drench my couch with my weeping.

7My eyes waste away from grief;[#Job 17:7; Ps 38:10]

they grow weak because of all my enemies.

8Depart from me, all you workers of iniquity;[#Ps 119:115; Mt 7:23]

for the Lord has heard the voice of my weeping.

9The Lord has heard my supplication;

the Lord accepts my prayer.

10May all my enemies be ashamed and greatly troubled;

may they turn back and be suddenly ashamed.
