Psalms 64

Psalms 64

1Hear my voice, O God, concerning my complaint;

preserve my life from dread of the enemy.

2Hide me from the secret schemes of the wicked,[#Ps 56:6]

from the turmoil of the workers of iniquity,

3who sharpen their tongues like a sword,

and aim bitter words like arrows,

4that they may shoot in secret at the blameless;

suddenly they shoot at him and do not fear.

5They encourage themselves in an evil matter;

they talk of laying snares secretly;

they say, “Who will see them?”

6They devise injustice,

saying “We have perfected a secret plot.”

For the inward thought and the heart of man are deep.

7But God will shoot an arrow at them;[#Ps 7:12–13]

suddenly they will be wounded.

8So He will bring ruin to them

with their own tongues;

all who see them will shake their heads.

9All men will fear,

and will declare the work of God;

they will wisely consider His deeds.

10The righteous will be glad in the Lord ,

and take refuge in Him.

And all the upright in heart will exult.
