chapter twenty

¹and after that as the turmoil has self calm down, did Paul send after the disciples and did speak words of comfort to them, has self bid farewell and is went out to go to Macedonia.

²and passing through those provinces, and encouraging them (i. e. the there believers) with a many words, did he come to Greece.

³and did (there) remain in the time of three months; and given that a plot is made become by the Judaeans against him, when he has plan had himself sail to Syria, did he decide himself to return over to Macedonia.

⁴and up to (Minor) Asia was him accompanied Sopater son of Pyrrhus from Berea; and by the Thessalonians, Aristarchus and Secundus; and Gaius from Derbe, and Timothy; and Tychicus and Trophimus, from (Minor) Asia.

⁵the these however had gone ahead, and did wait on us in Troas.

⁶and after Pesach did we sail away with the ship from Philippi, and are in five days around come to them to Troas, where we did remain seven days.

⁷and the first day of the week, when we did ourselves come together to break bread, did Paul preach to them, having in mind to the next morning to depart; and did extend was the sermon until half (midnight) night.

⁸and there are was a many lamps in the room upstairs, where we are were gathered.

⁹and on the window is sat a certain young man, with the name Eutychus, (who) is fall into in a deep sleep; and while Paul was still all prolonging with his preaching, did the sleep him overpowered, and he has fallen down from the third story, and they have him picked up a dead person.

¹⁰Paul however did go down, and did fall on him, and embracing him, did he say: worry self not, because the soul his is (still) in him.

¹¹and did go up, did break the bread, and (himself) taste did, and then long with them spoke, till it is become dawn‎, and so did he depart.

¹²and the young man have they brought leading a living, and they have self not a little comforted.

¹³we however were going ahead to the ship, and have ourselves sailed away to Assos, so as there to collect Paul; because so has he ordered, because himself did he want to go on foot.

¹⁴and when he has self with us met in Assos, did we him receive (onboard), and did come to Mitylene.

¹⁵and further sailing away from there, did we the next day arrive opposite Chios; and the next day did we come to Samos; and the following day did we come to Miletus.

¹⁶because Paul had decided to sail by Ephesus, so that he shall not need to lose any time in (Minor) Asia; because he has self hurried, as far possible for him, to be in Jerusalem for Shavuos.

¹⁷and from Miletus did he send to Ephesus, and let call the elders of the kehile.

¹⁸and when they did come to him, has he to they say:

you (PL) know yourselves, how I have myself behaved among you (PL) the whole time, of the first day on, when I did come to Asia,

¹⁹serving the L-rd with all humility and with tears and trials, which did come on me by the intrigues of Judaeans;

²⁰how I did nothing hold back from you (PL) out of that, which is of benefit, that I shall it not have said to you (PL), and you (PL) taught, both publicly and from house to house,

²¹witness saying to Jews and to Greeks about repentance to Hashem and faith in our L-rd Yehoshua the Moshiach.

²²and look, now, bound in the Spirit, go I to Jerusalem, not knowing, what it will me there meet,

²³except this, which the Spirit the Holy is testifying to me in every city, so to say, that there waiting on me chains and troubles.

²⁴but I consider, that my life is not worth the words, so precious is it for me, if I shall but can finish the life's journey mine, and the service, which I have received from the L-rd Yehoshua, witness to say of the Good News of Hashem's grace.

²⁵and look, now know I, that you (PL) will more never not see my face, you (PL) all, among whom I did go about, proclaiming the kingdom of Hashem.

²⁶therefore am I testify to you (PL) this today's day, that I am clean of the blood of all (people).

²⁷because I did me not hold back, you (PL) not to proclaim the entire counsel of the will of Hashem.

²⁸watch over then self and the entire flock, over which the Spirit the Holy did you (PL) appoint as overseers, so as to tend Hashem's kehile, which He did purchase with His own blood.

²⁹I know, that after my departure will come in among you (PL) evil wolves, who will not have any mercy on the flock;

³⁰and from you (PL) yourselves will arise men, who speak opposite things, drawing away the disciples after themselves.

³¹on account of this shall you (PL) stand on the watch, remembering, that during of three years have I not ceased, by day and by night, to say reproof to every one of you (PL) with tears.

³²and now leave I you (PL) over on Hashem's counsel and to the word of his grace, which has the power you (PL) to build up and you (PL) to give the inheritance among all kedoishem.

³³silver, or gold, or clothing, have I from anyone not desired.

³⁴you (PL) alone know, that the these hands of mine have me served for my needs and for the needs of my companions.

³⁵all have I you (PL) shown, that laboring on such a way, must one help the weak, and remember the L-rd Yeshua's words, because he himself did say: it is better to give than to receive.

³⁶and after the when he had this said, did he bend his knees, and prayer did with them all.

³⁷and it is became among all a strong weeping, and they did fall Paul on the neck and did him kiss,

³⁸being painfully grieved, if mainly about the word, which he had said, that they would more not see his face—and did him accompany to the ship.
