Hosea 3

Hosea 3

Hosea Redeems His Wife

1Then the Lord said to me, “Go, again, love a woman who is loved by a lover and is committing adultery, just as the Lord loves the Israelites, who look to other gods and love raisin cakes.”[#Jer 3:20; Hos 1:2–3]

2So I purchased her for myself for fifteen shekels of silver, and for a homer of barley, and a half homer of barley.

3Then I said to her, “You will remain with me many days. You will not play the whore, and you will not belong to another man. And also I will be with you.”[#Dt 21:13]

4For the Israelites will remain many days without a king and without a prince, without a sacrifice and without a standing stone, and without an ephod and teraphim.[#Ge 28:18–22; Isa 19:19; #Ex 28:4; Jdg 17:5; #Ge 31:19; 1Sa 19:13]

5Afterward the Israelites will return and seek the Lord their God and David their king. They will come in fear to the Lord and to His goodness in the latter days.[#Jer 30:9; #Isa 2:2]
