Psalms 130

Psalm 130

Waiting for Divine Redemption

1Out of the depths I cry to you, O Lord .[#Ps 42.7; 69.2]

2Lord, hear my voice![#2 Chr 6.40; Ps 28.2; 64.1]

Let your ears be attentive

to the voice of my supplications!

3If you, O Lord , should mark iniquities,[#Ps 76.7]

Lord, who could stand?

4But there is forgiveness with you,[#Ex 34.7; 1 Kings 8.40; Jer 33.8]

so that you may be revered.

5I wait for the Lord ; my soul waits,[#Ps 33.20; 119.81; Isa 8.17]

and in his word I hope;

6my soul waits for the Lord[#Ps 63.6; 119.147]

more than those who watch for the morning,

more than those who watch for the morning.

7O Israel, hope in the Lord ![#Ps 131.3; Isa 55.7]

For with the Lord there is steadfast love,

and with him is great power to redeem.

8It is he who will redeem Israel[#Lk 1.68]

from all its iniquities.
