and Paul did himself gazing intently on the Sanhedrin, and said: brothers, I have lived before Hashem with a whole and good conscience until to the present day.
however the kohen gadol Chananyah did order the (ones), who are there with him standing, him to strike on the mouth.
did Paul then to him say: Hashem will you strike, you (SG) white chalked wall; and you (SG) sit me to judge according to the Torah, and order they shall me strike contrary to the Torah?
however the (ones), who were there standing did say: the kohen gadol of Hashem you berate?
did Paul say: brothers, I did not know, that it is the kohen gadol; because it stands written: a ruler to your nation shall you (SG) not curse. (Exodus 22, 27.)
and knowing, that one part is Sadducees and the other part Pharisees, did Paul a shout do in the Sanhedrin: brothers, I am a Pharisee son of Pharisees; about the hope of resurrection of the dead ones am I judged!
and when he had this said, there is become a dispute from the Pharisees with the Sadducees, and the crowd did themselves split.
because the Sadducees say, that there is there is not any resurrection of the dead ones, not any angel, nor any spirit; the Pharisees however are confessing to both.
and there is become a great outcry; and it did stand up some scribes of the side of the Pharisees, and did hold a dispute, thus to say: we find not any whatever evil in the this man; and (what is) if a spirit or an angel did to him speak?
and when the dispute is become (really) great, did the captain, fear having, that Paul shall by them not torn apart become, ordered the soldiery to come down and him a seize to do from their midst, and lead into in the garrison into.
and in the following night did the L-rd stand by him, and said: be strong; because as you (SG) did witness said about me in Jerusalem, so must you also witness say in Rome.
and when it is become day did the Judaeans made a plot, and themselves bound with a solemn oath, and said, that they will not to eat and not drink until they will not kill Paul.
and there are were more than forty, which did make the this oath.
and they did come to the chief kohenim and to the elders, and did say: with a solemn oath have we ourselves bound nothing taste to be, until we will not kill Paul.
therefore let now with the Sanhedrin make known to the captain, that he shall him bring down to you (PL), exactly as you (PL) would wanted with exactitude to examine about him; and before he will self get closer to you (PL), are we ready him to kill.
but Paul's sister's son had heard of the ambush, and is come, and entered in the garrison into, and did this report Paul.
and Paul did call one of the officers, and said: lead the this young man to the captain, because he has him something to tell.
and he did him take and brought him to the captain, and said: the prisoner Paul did me call and asked, I shall bring to you (SG) the this young man, who has something to you (SG) to say.
and the captain did him take by the hand, did him led away on a side, and (him) asked: what is it, that you (SG) you have me to tell?
did he say: the Judaeans have agreed you to ask, that you (SG) you shall tomorrow morning bring down Paul to the Sanhedrin, just as if like they would want something with exactitude to investigate about him.
you (SG) you shall yourself however not permit be persuaded by them, because more than forty (men) of them lie in wait (for ambush) for him, and have themselves solemn sworn, not to eat and not to drink, until they will him not have killed; and are now ready and wait (only) on your consent.
and the captain did send away the young man, enjoining him: you shall any one not tell, that you (SG) you have me this to know done.
and did call two of the officers, and said: prepare to two hundred soldiers, who should go to Caesarea, and seventy horsemen, and two hundred spearmen, in the third (9 P.M.) hour of the night;
and (he has order) they should prepare beasts, so that mounted (on a horse) Paul and him led away in safety to Felix the governor.
and did write a letter, in this manner:
Claudius Lysias to the eminent governor Felix, peace.
the this man is captive become by the Judaeans, and they did him want to kill; (but) I did come with the soldiery and did him rescue, finding out myself, that he is a Roman.
and wanting to know the reason, for which they had him accused, did I him lead down to their Sanhedrin;
and did find, that he being accused about questions of their Torah, and had not any whatever indictment, that he shall be deserve death or chains.
when however it is me disclosed become, that it will be a plot on the man, have I him immediately sent to you (SG), ordered also the accusers to speak before you (SG) against him.
the soldiers did therefore take Paul, according to as it was them ordered become, and him led away by night to Antipatris.
and the next morning, allowing the horsemen to go with him, did they themselves return to the garrison into;
and they did go in to Caesarea and did hand over the letter to the governor, and also presented Paul before him.
and after reading, did he him ask from which province he is; and as he has heard, that from Cilicia,
did he say: I will you hear, when the accusers your will also (here) come; and did order, they should him guard in Herod's palace.
