Everyone who believes that Jesus is the Christ has been born of God, and everyone who loves the Father also loves the child who is born of ʜɪᴍ.
By this we know that we love the children of God, when we love God and keep ʜɪꜱ commandments.
For this is loving God, that we keep ʜɪꜱ commandments. Hɪꜱ commandments are not burdensome.
For everyone born of God conquers the world. This is the victory that has overcome the world: our faith.
Who is the one who conquers the world except the one who believes that Jesus is the Son of God?
This is the one who came by water and blood, Jesus Christ; not in the water only, but in the water and the blood. And the Spirit is the one who testifies, because the Spirit is the truth.
For there are three that testify:
the Spirit, the water, and the blood—and the three are in agreement.
If we accept human testimony, the testimony of God is greater, because this is the testimony of God, that ʜᴇ has testified about ʜɪꜱ Son.
Whoever believes in the Son of God has the testimony in themselves. Anyone who doesn’t believe God has made ʜɪᴍ a liar, because they have not believed in the testimony that God has given concerning ʜɪꜱ Son.
The testimony is this: that God gave to us eternal life, and this life is in ʜɪꜱ Son.
The one who has the Son has this life. The one who doesn’t have the Son of God doesn’t have the life.
I have written these things to y’all who believe in the name of the Son of God so that y’all may know that y’all have eternal life.
This is the confidence which we have toward him, that if we ask anything according to ʜɪꜱ will, ʜᴇ listens to us.
And if we know that ʜᴇ listens to us, whatever we ask, we know that we have the requests that we have asked of ʜɪᴍ.
If anyone sees their sibling sinning a sin not leading to death, they are to ask God, and ʜᴇ will give life to the person whose sin does not lead to death. There is sin leading to death. I am not saying that anyone should make a request about that.
All unrighteousness is sin, but there is sin that does not lead to death.
We know that whoever is born of God doesn’t sin, but the one who was born of God keeps them safe, and the evil one cannot touch them.
We know that we are of God, and the whole world is lying before the evil one.
We know that the Son of God has come and has given us an understanding so that we know ʜɪᴍ who is true. And we are in ʜɪᴍ who is true, in ʜɪꜱ Son Jesus Christ. He is the true God and eternal life.
Little children, y’all keep yourselves from idols.
