1Bless the Lord , O my soul![#Ps 103:22]
O Lord my God, You are very great!
You are clothed with honor and majesty,
2covering Yourself with light as with a garment,[#Da 7:9]
stretching out the heavens like a curtain.
3He lays the beams of His upper chambers on the waters;[#Am 9:6]
He makes the clouds His chariot;
He walks upon the wings of the wind;
4He makes His angels spirits,
His ministers a flaming fire.
5You laid the earth on its foundations,[#Job 26:7; Ps 24:2]
so that it should never be moved.
6You covered it with the deep as with a garment;[#Ge 7:19]
the waters stood above the mountains.
7At Your rebuke they fled;[#Ge 8:1; Ps 18:15]
at the sound of Your thunder they hurried away.
8The mountains rose;
the valleys sank down
to the place which You established for them.
9You set a boundary that they may not pass over,[#Job 26:10]
that they may not return to cover the earth.
10You send the springs into the valleys;[#Ps 107:35; Isa 41:18]
they flow between the hills.
11They give drink to every beast of the field;
the wild donkeys quench their thirst.
12By them the birds of the heavens have their habitation;
they sing among the branches.
13You water the mountains from Your upper chambers;[#Ps 147:8; Jer 10:13]
the earth is satisfied with the fruit of Your works.
14You cause the grass to grow for the cattle,[#Ps 147:8–9]
and vegetation for the cultivation of man,
that he may bring forth food from the earth,
15and wine that makes glad the heart of man,[#Jdg 9:13]
oil to make his face shine,
and bread which strengthens man’s heart.
16The trees of the Lord are full of sap,
the cedars of Lebanon which He planted,
17where the birds make their nests;
the stork has its home in the fir trees.
18The high mountains are for the wild goats;[#Job 39:1]
the rocks are a refuge for the rock badgers.
19He made the moon for the seasons;
the sun knows its place for setting.
20You make darkness, and it is night,[#Ps 74:16; Isa 45:7]
in which all the beasts of the forest creep about.
21The young lions roar after their prey,
and seek their food from God.
22When the sun rises, they gather together
and lie down in their dens.
23Man goes out to his work[#Ge 3:19]
and to his labor until the evening.
24O Lord , how manifold are Your works![#Ps 40:5]
In wisdom You have made them all.
The earth is full of Your possessions.
25So is this great and wide sea,
which is full of innumerable creatures,
living things both small and great.
26There the ships sail along;[#Ps 107:23]
and there is Leviathan, which You have made to play in it.
27These all wait upon You,
that You may give them their food in due season.
28You give to them;
they gather it up;
You open Your hand,
they are filled with good.
29You hide Your face;
they are troubled;
You take away their breath;
they die and return to their dust.
30You send forth Your Spirit;
they are created,
and You renew the face of the ground.
31May the glory of the Lord endure forever;
may the Lord rejoice in His works.
32He looks at the earth, and it trembles;
He touches the mountains, and they smoke.
33I will sing to the Lord as long as I live;
I will sing praise to my God while I have my being.
34May my meditation be sweet to Him;
I will be glad in the Lord .
35May sinners be consumed from the earth,
and let the wicked be no more.
Bless the Lord , O my soul!
Praise the Lord !
