The chat will start when you send the first message.
Regarding the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ and the time when we’ll go to be with him, we ask you, brothers and sisters,
not to become easily upset or alarmed. If you receive a message that’s supposedly from us, and it says that the day of the Lord has already come, don’t get upset, whether that message is spoken or written or prophesied.
Don’t let anyone trick you in any way. That day won’t come until people rise up against God and the man of sin appears. He’s a marked man, headed for ruin.
He’ll oppose everything that’s called God or is worshiped, and he’ll give himself power over everything. He’ll set himself up in God’s temple and announce that he’s God himself.
Don’t you remember that when I was with you, I used to tell you these things?
Now you know what’s holding back the man of sin so that he will make his appearance at the right time.
The secret power of sin is already at work, but the one who’s now holding back that power will keep doing it until he’s taken out of the way.
Then the man of sin will be revealed. But the Lord Jesus will overthrow him with the breath of his mouth and destroy him with the glorious brightness of his coming.
The coming of the man of sin will fit how Satan works. He’ll show his power through all kinds of signs and wonders that will lead people astray.
People who are being lost will be fooled by this evil because they refuse to love the truth that would save them.
So God lets them be fooled completely, so that they’ll believe the false things they’ve been told.
And because they wouldn’t believe the truth but took pleasure in evil, they will be judged.
But we should always thank God for you, brothers and sisters, because the Lord loves you and chose you as the first to be saved. This has happened through the work of the Holy Spirit, which makes people holy, and through your belief in the truth.
God called you to be saved through the good news that we preach, and you will share in the glory of our Lord Jesus Christ.
Brothers and sisters, remain strong in the faith. Hold on to what we’ve taught you in person and in our letters.
-17May our Lord Jesus Christ and God our Father encourage your hearts and make you strong in every good thing that you do and say. God loved us and by his grace he has given us good hope and encouragement that will last forever.
