Yahweh Is Gracious and Compassionate

I will give thanks to Yahweh with all my heart,

In the council of the upright and in the congregation.

²Great are the works of Yahweh;

They are sought by all who delight in them.

³Splendid and majestic is His work,[#111:3 Lit Splendor and majesty]

And His righteousness stands forever.

⁴He has made His wondrous deeds to be remembered;[#111:4 Lit a memorial]

Yahweh is gracious and compassionate.

⁵He has given food to those who fear Him;[#111:5 Lit prey; #111:5 Or reverence]

He will remember His covenant forever.

⁶He has declared to His people the power of His works,

In giving them an inheritance of the nations.

⁷¶The works of His hands are truth and justice;[#111:7 Or faithfulness]

All His precepts are faithful.

⁸They are upheld forever and ever;

They are done in truth and uprightness.

⁹He has sent redemption to His people;

He has commanded His covenant forever;

Holy and fearsome is His name.

Good insight belongs to all those who do His commandments ;

His praise stands forever.
