Psalms 62

Psalms 62

1For God alone my soul silently waits;[#Ps 33:20; 37:7]

from Him comes my salvation.

2He alone is my rock and my salvation;[#Ps 18:2]

He is my refuge; I shall not be greatly shaken.

3How long will you assault a man?

So you can murder all of you,

like a leaning wall and a tottering fence.

4They only conspire to cast him down

from his high position;

they delight in lies,

they bless with their mouth,

but they curse inwardly. Selah

5My soul, wait in silence for God alone,

for my expectation is from Him.

6He alone is my rock and my salvation;

He is my defense; I shall not be moved.

7On God rests my salvation and my glory;

the rock of my strength, my refuge is in God.

8Trust in Him at all times, O people;

pour out your heart before Him;

God is a refuge for us. Selah

9Surely men of low degree are but a vapor;[#Ps 39:5]

men of high degree are a lie;

in the balances they go up;

they are together lighter than vapor.

10Trust not in oppression;

put no vain hope in robbery;

if riches increase,

set not your heart on them.

11God has spoken once;

twice have I heard this:

that power belongs to God.

12Also to You, O Lord, belongs mercy.[#Ps 103:8]

For You render to every man

according to his work.
