Vision #3: A Man With a Measuring Line

I lifted up my eyes and saw a man with a measuring line in his hand.

Then I asked, “Where are you going?”

He said to me, “To measure Jerusalem, to see what is its width and what is its length.”

Then the angel who talked with me went out, and another angel went out to meet him,

and said to him, “Run, speak to this young man, saying, ‘Jerusalem will be inhabited as villages without walls, because of the multitude of humans and livestock in it.

For I,’ says YHWH, ‘will be to her a wall of fire around it, and I will be the glory in the middle of her.

Oh Oh! Y’all must flee from the land of the north,’ declares YHWH, ‘for I have scattered y’all like the four winds of heaven,’ says YHWH.

‘Oh, Zion! Escape, you who are living with the daughter of Babylon.’

For YHWH Almighty says: ‘For honor ʜᴇ has sent me against the nations that plundered y’all; for whoever touches y’all touches the apple of ʜɪꜱ eye.

Look! I will shake my hand over them, and they will be a plunder to those who served them. Then y’all will know that YHWH Almighty has sent me.

Sing and rejoice, daughter of Zion! For Look! I come and I will dwell within you,’ says YHWH.

Many nations will join themselves to YHWH in that day, and will become my people. Then I will dwell among you, and you will know that YHWH Almighty has sent me to you.

YHWH will inherit Judah as his portion in the holy land, and will again choose Jerusalem.

Be silent, all flesh, before YHWH; for ʜᴇ has roused himself from ʜɪꜱ holy habitation!”
