Revelation 16

Revelation 16

The Seven Bowls of God’s Wrath

I heard a loud sound from the temple, saying to the seven angels, “Y’all go and pour out the seven bowls of God’s fury on the earth!”

The first went and poured out his bowl on the earth, and it became a terrible and painful sore on the humans who had the mark of the beast and who worshiped its image.

The second angel poured out his bowl into the sea, and it became like the blood of a dead person, and every living soul in the sea died.

The third poured out his bowl into the rivers and springs of water, and they became blood.

I heard the angel of the waters saying, “You are righteous, the one who is and who was, the Holy One, because you have judged these things.

For they poured out the blood of saints and prophets, and you have given them blood to drink. They deserve this.”

I heard the altar saying, “Yes, Lord God Almighty, true and righteous are your judgments.”

The fourth poured out his bowl on the sun, and it was given to it to scorch humans with fire.

The humans were scorched with great heat, and they blasphemed the name of God who has the power over these plagues. They didn’t repent and give ʜɪᴍ glory.

The fifth poured out his bowl on the throne of the beast, and its empire was covered in darkness. They gnawed their tongues because of the pain,

and they blasphemed the God of heaven because of their anguish and their sores. They still didn’t repent of their deeds.

The sixth poured out his bowl on the great river Euphrates. Its water was dried up, so that the way might be prepared for the kings who come from the direction the sun rises.

I saw three unclean spirits like frogs coming out of the dragon’s mouth, out of the beast’s mouth, and out of the false prophet’s mouth.

They are demonic spirits, making signs that go out to the kings of the whole inhabited earth, to gather them together for the war of that great day of God Almighty.

“Look, I am coming like a thief. Blessed is the one who stays awake and keeps their clothes on, so that they don’t walk naked and have people see their shame.”

Now they gathered them together into the place called Armageddon in Hebrew.[#16:16 or, Har-Magedon.]

Then the seventh poured out his bowl into the air. A loud sound came out of the temple from the throne, saying, “It is done!”

There were flashes of lightning and sounds of thunder. And there was a massive earthquake such as there had not been since humans were on the earth, so vast was the earthquake.

The great city became divided into three parts, and the cities of the ethnic groups fell. Babylon the Great was remembered in the presence of God, to give to her the cup of the wine of the fury of ʜɪꜱ wrath.

Every island fled away, and the mountains could not be found.

Massive hailstones, about one hundred pounds each, came down from heaven on humans. The humans blasphemed God because of the plague of the hail, for this plague was exceedingly massive.[#16:21 or, one talent.]
