Psalms 4

Psalms 4

1Answer me when I call,

O God of my righteousness!

You have given me relief when I was in distress;

have mercy on me, and hear my prayer.

2O people, how long will you turn my glory into shame?[#Ps 3:3]

How long will you love vanity and seek after lies? Selah

3Know that the Lord set apart the faithful for Himself;

the Lord hears when I call to Him.

4Tremble in awe, and do not sin.[#Eph 4:26]

Meditate within your own heart on your bed,

and be still. Selah

5Offer sacrifices of righteousness,[#Dt 33:19]

and trust in the Lord .

6There are many who say, “Who will show us any good?”

Lord , let the light of Your countenance shine upon us.

7You have placed gladness in my heart,[#Isa 9:3]

more than when their grain and new wine abound.

8I will both lie down in peace and sleep;[#Ps 3:5]

for You, Lord ,

make me dwell safely and securely.
