In the wilderness כא

1and the Kena'ani, the king of Arad, the inhabitants of south, has heard that Yisroel is arrived on the road of Atarim, and he has war held/made with Yisroel, and captured from them prisoners.

2has Yisroel a vow did (vow) to Hashem, and has said: if give will you(sg) give the this people into my hand, will I make their cities devoted/cherem.

3and Hashem has paid heed to the voice of Yisroel, and he has delivered the Kena'ani, and they have made them and their cities devoted/cherem. and one has called the name of the place, Chormah.

4and they have moved out from mount Hor on road from Yam Suf, so that to go round the land Edom, and the soul of the people is having become impatient from way.

5and the people did speak against G-d and against Moshe: since what (why) have you (PL) us brought up from Egypt to die in the wilderness? for any bread is not, and any water is not, and our soul sickens/loathes self with the worthless food.

6has Hashem sent on people fiery snakes, and they have bite this people, and it is died a large (number) people of Yisroel.

7is this people having come to Moshe, and they have said: we have sinned what we have spoken against Hashem and against you(SG); be praying to Hashem, he shall remove from us the snakes. has Moshe praying having been for the people.

8and Hashem has said to Moshe: make you(SG) a fiery snake, and do/place it up on a pole; and it will be, each which shall be bitten, will it look, and will remain alive.

9has Moshe made a copper snake, and has it placed on a pole; and it is having been, if a snake has someone bitten, so has he a look done on the copper snake, and is remaining alive.

10and the children of Yisroel have journeyed/set out, and rested in Ovot.

11and they have moved out from Ovot, and rested in Iyei-HaAvarim, in the wilderness which before Moav, against/toward sunrise.

12of there have they moved out, and rested in valley of Zered.

13from there have they moved out, and rested on other side Arnon which in wilderness, which go out of the boundary of Emori; for Arnon is the border of Moav, between Moav and between the Emori.

14therefore is said in the book of the Battles of Hashem:

Vahev in Sufah,

and the valleys of Arnon,

15and the descent of the valleys,

which incline self to the dwelling of Ar,

and lean self on border of Moav.

16and from there to Be'er. this is the well, where Hashem has said to Moshe: gather in this people, and I will them give water.

17then has Yisroel sang the this song:

spring up, o well – sing to it –

18the well which dug have it leaders,

it chiseled out have chieftains of people,

by the Mekhokek with their staffs.

and from wilderness to Mattanah;

19and from Mattanah to Nachaliel, and from Nachaliel to Bamot;

20and of Bamot to the valley of which in field of Moav, at top of Pisgah, which look down on the wasteland.

21and Yisroel has sent messengers to Sichon the king of Emori, so to say:

22let me pass through by your land; we will self not deviate/turn away in a field or in a vineyard; we will not drink water from a well; on the king's road will we go, until whence we will pass through your border.

23but Sichon has not allowed Yisroel pass through by his boundary, and Sichon has gathered his entire people, and is having come out against Yisroel to the wilderness, and he is having come to Yahatz, and has war held/made with Yisroel.

24and Yisroel has him struck with edge of sword, and captured his land from Arnon unto Yabbok, unto the children of Ammon; for the border of the children of Ammon is having been strong.

25and Yisroel has taken all the these cities, and Yisroel has self settled in all cities of Emori, in Cheshbon, and in all its daughter towns.

26for Cheshbon is having been the city of Sichon the king of Emori, who has war held/made with the first/previous king of Moav, and has taken away his entire land from his hand, unto Arnon.

27therefore say the proverb (formula sayer):

come to Cheshbon!

built and set up

shall become the city of Sichon!

28for a fire is (come) out of Cheshbon,

a flame from the city of Sichon;

it has consumed Ar of Moav,

the lords of the heights of Arnon.

29woe to you(SG), Moav!

lost are you, people of Kemosh!

he has allowed become his sons escape (as fugitives),

and his daughters in captivity

to Sichon the king of Emori.

30and we have them cast down;

perished is Cheshbon unto Divon;

and we have laid waste

unto Nophach which (is) unto Medeva.

31and Yisroel has self settled in land of the Emori.

32and Moshe has sent scrutinize/spy Yazer, and they have subjugated her daughter towns, and driven out the Emori that which is there having been.

33and they have self turned, and are having gone up on way of Bashan; is having come out Og the king of Bashan against them, he with his entire people, on battle at Edre'i.

34has Hashem said to Moshe: you(SG) shall not fear have before him, for in your hand have I given him with his entire people and his land, and will do to him, so as you (sg) have done to Sichon the king of Emori, which is settled/dwelt in Cheshbon.

35and they have struck him with his sons and his entire people, until him not to let a remnant; and they have took possession of his land.
