Micah 1

Micah 1

The LORD is coming!

1The LORD ’s word that came to Micah of Moresheth in the days of Judah’s Kings Jotham, Ahaz, and Hezekiah, which he saw concerning Samaria and Jerusalem:

2Listen, all you peoples!

May the LORD God be a witness against you,

3Look! The LORD is coming out from his place;

4Then the mountains will melt under him;

5All this is for the crime of Jacob

6So I will make Samaria a pile of rubble in the open field,

I will pour her stones into the valley;

7All her images will be beaten to pieces;

I will make all her idols worthless.

8On account of this, I will cry out and howl;

I will cry out like the jackals,

Destruction looms

9Indeed, Zion has been weakened by her wounds!

he has struck as far as the gate of my people,

10In Gath tell it not; no need to weep there![#1.10 Heb lacks]

11Pass by (for your sake), inhabitants of Shaphir![#1.11 (plural)]

The cry of Beth-ezel

12How she longs for good, inhabitants of Maroth!

13Harness the horses to the chariot, inhabitants of Lachish!

14Therefore, you will give good-bye gifts to Moresheth-gath;

15Again I will bring to you the one who conquers, inhabitants of Mareshah;

16Make yourself bald and cut off your hair
