Psalms 16

Psalms 16

1Preserve me, O God,[#Ps 17:8; 56:1]

for in You I take refuge.

2I have said to the Lord , “You are my Lord;

my welfare has no existence outside of You.”

3For the holy ones in the land,

they are the excellent ones, in whom is all my delight.

4Those who choose another god[#Ex 23:13; Jos 23:7]

multiply their sorrows;

their drink offerings of blood I will not offer

nor take their names upon my lips.

5O Lord , you are the portion of my inheritance and my cup;[#Ps 23:5; 73:26]

You hold my lot.

6The boundary lines have fallen to me in pleasant places;

yes, I have a goodly inheritance.

7I will bless the Lord who gives me counsel;[#Ps 73:24]

in the night also my heart instructs me.

8I have set the Lord always before me;

because He is at my right hand,

I shall not be moved.

9Therefore my heart is glad, and my soul rejoices;[#Ps 30:12; 57:8]

my flesh also will rest secure.

10For You will not leave my soul in Sheol,[#Ps 49:15]

nor will You allow Your holy one to see corruption.

11You will show me the path of life.[#Mt 7:14; Ac 2:28]

In Your presence is fullness of joy;

at Your right hand are pleasures forevermore.
