Concerning Sound Instruction

¹But as for you, teach what is fitting of sound instruction:[#1Ti 1:10; Titus 1:9]

²Older men should be sober, serious, temperate, sound in faith, in love, in patience.[#1Ti 3:11; Titus 1:13]

³Likewise, older women should be reverent in behavior, and not be false accusers, not be enslaved to much wine, but teachers of good things,[#1Ti 3:8]

⁴that they may teach the young women to love their husbands, to love their children,[#1Ti 5:14]

⁵and to be self-controlled, pure, homemakers, good, obedient to their own husbands, that the word of God may not be dishonored.[#1Ti 6:1]

⁶Likewise, exhort young men to be self-controlled,[#1Ti 5:1]

⁷in all things presenting yourself as an example of good works: in teaching showing integrity, gravity, incorruptibility,[#1Ti 4:12; 1Pe 5:3]

⁸and sound speech that cannot be condemned, so that the one who opposes you may be ashamed, having nothing evil to say of you.[#Ne 5:9; 1Pe 2:12]

⁹Exhort servants to be obedient to their own masters, to please them well in everything, not answering back,

¹⁰or stealing, but showing complete fidelity, so that they may exemplify the instruction of God our Savior in all things.[#Mt 5:16; Titus 1:3]

¹¹For the grace of God that brings salvation has appeared to all men,[#Ac 11:23; 1Ti 2:4]

¹²teaching us that, denying ungodliness and worldly desires, we should live soberly, righteously, and in godliness in this present world,[#Lk 1:75; Ro 6:19]

¹³as we await the blessed hope and the appearing of the glory of our great God and Savior Jesus Christ,[#2Ti 4:8; Titus 1:2]

¹⁴who gave Himself for us, that He might redeem us from all lawlessness and purify for Himself a special people, zealous of good works.[#Heb 9:14; #Eph 2:10]

¹⁵Teach these things, exhort, and rebuke with all authority. Let no one despise you.[#1Ti 5:20; 2Ti 4:2]
