Corinthians letter 8

Corinthians letter 8

chapter eight

and what relates to sacrifices to idols: know we, that we all have knowledge (quote unquote). the knowledge puffs up, the love however builds up.

if one speaks self one, that he knows something, knows he yet not, as he should know;

who however it has love (for) Hashem, that (one) is by Him known.

therefore, about eating of sacrifices to idols, know we, that an idols is nothing in the world, and that it is not any G-d except the one.

and when even there find self so called g-ds, whether in heaven, or on the earth, as there are actually there a many g-ds and a many l-rds,

yet for us—just one G-d, the Father, from whom all things are, and we (exist) for Him; and one L-rd, Yehoshua the Moshiach, through whom all is, and we (exist) through him.

the (this very) knowledge is however not in everyone; but some, in the custom/habit until now to the idols, eat it as a sacrifice to idols; and because their conscience is weak, becomes it defiled.

food however brings us not nearer to Hashem; neither (do) we to lose, when we eat not, nor (do) we gain, when we eat yes.

see however that the these freedom (of) yours (PL) shall not become any stumbling block for the weak.

because if someone sees you, who has knowledge, sitting (at the table) in the idol temple, might will then not the conscience of the one, who is weak, be encouraged to eat of the sacrifices to the idols?

and through your knowledge becomes the weak one lost, the brother, for whom the Moshiach is died.

and sinning thus against the brothers, and wounding their weak conscience, sin you (PL) against the Moshiach.

therefore, if a meal misleads my brother to the temptation, will I on eternal never way more not eat any meat, so that I shall not mislead my brother to the temptation.
