chapter two

¹therefore you (SG), my son, strengthen yourself in the grace, which is in Moshiach Yehoshua.

²and what you (SG) you have heard from me before a many witnesses, this give over to faithful men, who will be competent to teach also others.

³suffer along with (us) as a good soldier of the Moshiach Yehoshua.

⁴any soldier entangles himself not in the affairs of this life; so that he shall well please the officer,

⁵who has him taken into soldiery. and when someone wrestles himself as an athlete, becomes he not crowned, if he did himself not wrestle according to the rules.

⁶the farmer, who labors, shall be to the first to enjoy of the fruits.

⁷understand what I say; because the L-rd will you (SG) give wisdom in every thing.

⁸remember Yehoshua the Moshiach, who did stand up again from the dead, is from the seed (of) David, according to my News Good;

⁹for which I suffer even to up to chains, as a criminal; but Hashem's word is not chained.

¹⁰therefore bear I everything over for the sake of the chosen, so that they also should obtain the salvation in the Moshiach Yehoshua with eternal glory.

¹¹this is a faithful word: for if we are died together with him, will we also live together with him;

¹²if we have endured, will we also rule together with him; if we will him deny, will he also us deny;

¹³if we faithful not, remains He (still) faithful; because He can Himself not deny.

¹⁴this bring all to the memory, charging them before Hashem, themselves not to waver over words, which profit to nothing, (except) to the subversion (of) the hearers.

¹⁵give you (SG) the effort, yourself to present before Hashem as an approved worker, who needs himself not to be ashamed, who lays out out correctly the word of truth.

¹⁶avoid however from the unworthy and empty words; because they lead further to a many more evils,

¹⁷and their word devours like gangrene; from them are Hymenaeus and Philetus,

¹⁸who have been deviated from the truth, saying, that it is already was resurrection of the dead ones; and turn over the faith of some.

¹⁹yet Hashem's strong foundation stands firm, having the this seal: the L-rd knows the (ones), who are His, and: may self turn away from iniquity every one, who calls on the the L-rd's Name.

²⁰in a large house can be found not only gold and silver pots, but also wooden and earthen ones; and the first to honor and the last to dishonor.

²¹when therefore someone will himself purify from the these, will he be a vessel to honor, holy, useful to the L-rd, prepared for all kinds of deeds good.

²²flee however from the youthful lusts, and pursue after righteousness, faith, love, peace with those, who call on the L-rd out of a pure heart.

²³however foolish and childish quarrels shall you (SG) avoid, knowing, that they bring about quarrels.

²⁴the L-rd's servant however shall himself not quarrel, but be friendly in relation to (to) everyone, competent to teach (others), a patient,

²⁵who speaks with humility reproving to the rebellious; perhaps will Hashem them grant repentance, to the recognition (of) the truth,

²⁶and again sober to be (escape) out of the Satan's trap out, who he has them taken captive to his will.
