chapter one and twenty

¹and it is happened, when we have ourselves separate and did went away from them, sailing away in a straight direction, course, did we come to Cos, and the next day to Rhodes, and from there to Patara;

²and since we did find a ship, which was going to Phoenicia, did we board and sail away.

³and sighting the (island of) Cyprus, and leaving it on left side, did we ourselves sail away to Syria, and did came to Tyre; because there was the ship supposed to unload its cargo.

⁴and after the as we had found the disciples, did we there remain seven days; and they did speak to Paul through the Spirit (the Holy), not to go up to Jerusalem.

⁵and when we had completed the days, did we go out and sail away; and all did us accompany with the women and children till outside the city; and we did kneel on the sea shore and prayer did;

⁶then did we ourselves bid farewell one with the other, and did board on the ship, they however have themselves return home.

⁷and we did finish the sea journey from Tyre, and did arrive to Ptolemais; and giving greetings of peace to the brothers, did we remain with them one day.

⁸and the next morning did we go out, and did come to Caesarea; and did enter in the house of Philip the herald, one of the seven, and stayed with him.

⁹the this one (Philip) did have four daughters virgins, who did prophecies say.

¹⁰and while we did (there) stay a many days, did come down from the (land) Yehudah a certain prophet, with the name Agav (Agabus).

¹¹and coming to us, did he take Paul's belt, has himself bind the feet and the hands, and said: this says the Spirit the Holy: the man, whose belt this is, will the Judaeans in Jerusalem in this way bind, and (him) give over into Goyishe hands into.

¹²and when we did this hear, did we and the local people him begged, that he shall not going up to Jerusalem.

¹⁷and when we are come to Jerusalem, did the brothers us welcome with joy.

¹⁸and the next day is Paul with us went in to James, and all elders are come there.

¹⁹and giving greetings of them peace, did he at length report all, that Hashem has done among the nations of the world through his ministry.

²⁰and on hearing this, did they praise Hashem; and to him said: you (SG) you see, brother, how many thousands (of) Jews there are, who believe, and all are zealots for the Torah;

²¹and they have they (falsely report) reported about you (SG), that you (SG) teach all Jews, who find self among the nations of the world, self to fall away (from) the (law of) Moses, saying, that they should not circumcise do the children, and themselves not observe do according to the (Jewish) customs.

²²what then will be? in any case will they (after all) hear, that you (SG) have come.

²³do therefore this, which we will (to) you say: with us can be found four men, who have a vow upon themselves;

²⁴take the these and cleanse you with them, and pay for them, so that they should themselves allow shaving the head; and all will know, that in this, what they have heard about you (SG), there is nothing (any truth). but that you (SG) yourself go also on the way of straight (way of Hashem), and are shomer mitzvot the Torah.

²⁵and concerning the Goyishe believers, did we already write a letter, concluding, that they should themselves refrain (to eat) of sacrifices to idols and of blood and of strangled (meat) and of fornication.

²⁸shouting, men of Israel, help: the this one man is it, who teaches everyone everywhere against the (Jewish) people and the Torah and the this place (holy), even more, he did even lead in Greeks in House HaMikdash into and did desecrate the these place holy.

²⁹because they have previously had seen Trophimus the Ephesian in the city with him; and thought, that Paul had him led in into House HaMikdash into.

³⁰and the whole city has self moved, and there is become a turmoil of people; and they did seize Paul and him drag out outside the House HaMikdash; and immediately have self the doors shut.

³¹and as they did him want to kill, did come a report to the captain of the cohort, that all Jerusalem is in an uproar.

³²did he quickly take soldiers and officers, and did run down to them; and seeing the captain and the soldiers, did they stop to beat up Paul.

³³then did the captain go over, did him arrest, and ordered they should him bind with two chains, and did ask, who he is, and what he has done.

³⁴and every one in the crowd did something else shout; and not being able himself to find out for certain, on account of the commotion, did he order, they should him lead away in the garrison into.

³⁵and when he is come to the steps, have the soldiers him carried on account of the crush of the crowd;

³⁶because the mass of people did follow, shouting: went away with him!

³⁷and when Paul was about to brought in to be in the garrison into, did he say to the captain: (question) is it me permit something to say to you (SG)? and he has said: you (SG) know Greek?

³⁸(question) you are then not the Egyptian, who did with a certain time back make an insurgency, and led out in the wilderness into the four thousand men of the assassins?

³⁹did Paul say: I am a Jew from Tarsus in Cilicia, a citizen of a prominent city; ask I you, allow me to speak to the people.
