or (question) know you (PL) not, brothers—because I speak to those, who know the Torah—that the Torah rules over the man all as long as he lives?
because the married woman is from HaTorah bound to her husband for life; when however the husband dies, is she free from the law of husband.
therefore, while at the man's alive she will herself give over to an other man, will she called to be adulteress; however if the husband dies, is she free from the law, and not any adulteress, when she becomes (the wife) of an other husband.
so also, brothers of mine, have you (PL) dead made become to the law through the body of the Moshiach, that you (PL) shall belong to an other, to the one raised from the dead, so that we should bear fruit to Hashem.
because when we are were in the flesh, did the sinful lusts, which are through the law, worked in our body parts to bring fruit to the death.
now however are we free from the law, being dead which relates to that, to which we are were bound, so that we should serve in the newness of the Spirit, and not according to the oldness of the letter.
what will we therefore say? that the law is sin? mercy and peace! but when not through the law, would I not know of the sin; because, would the law not say: you (SG) shall not covet (Exodus 20, 17), would I of covetous lust not know;
and the sin, finding a reason through the command, has roused in me every lust; because without a law is the sin dead.
and once have I lived without a law; is come the command, did the sin revive, and I did die;
and it has self turned out, that this commandment, which was supposed to be to the life (Leviticus 18, 5), did for me become to the death;
because the sin, finding a cause in the commandment, did me deceive and thus me killed.
so around is the Torah holy, and the commandment is holy and just and good.
(question) did then this good become for me the death? mercy and peace! but the sin, so that it shall appear (be manifest) as sin, working for me the death through the good—so that through the commandment shall itself show/appear as very sinful sin is.
because we know, that the Torah is spiritual; however I am unspiritual and sold under the sin.
because I know not what, I do; because I do not that, which I want, but what I hate, this do I.
and if I do this, which I want not, am I admit, that the Torah is good.
and now am I it more not, the one who does that, but the sin, which dwells in me.
because I know, that in me, that means in my flesh, dwells not any in no way good; because with me is there the desire, however the doing the good—not.
because the good, which I want, do I not; but the evil, which I want not, this do I yes.
however if I do that, which I want not, operating I it no longer, but the sin, which dwells in me.
so around find I this law, when I want to do the good, that the evil is with me.
because according to my inner man rejoice I me with the Torah of Hashem;
I see however in my body parts an other law, which is at war with the law of my mind, which takes me captive to the law of sin, which is in my body parts.
o, I wretched man! who will me release from the body of the this death?
praised be Hashem, through Yehoshua the Moshiach our L-rd. so around serve I myself with the understanding the Torah of Hashem, however with the body the law of sin.
