Psalms 16

Psalms 16

1Protect me, God,

for I take refuge in you.

2I say to YHWH, “You are my Lord.

Apart from you I have no good thing.”

3As for the holy people who are in the earth,

they are the excellent ones in whom is all my delight.

4Those who desire another god will increase in sorrow

I will not offer their drink offerings of blood,

or take their names on my lips.

5YHWH is my portion and my cup.

You make my lot secure.

6The boundary lines have fallen to me in pleasant places.

Indeed, I have a beautiful inheritance.

7I will bless YHWH, who counsels me.

Yes, even at night my mind instructs me.

8I have set YHWH continually before me.

Because ʜᴇ is at my right hand, I will not be shaken.

9Therefore my heart is glad, and my whole being rejoices.

My flesh will dwell in safety.

10For you will not leave my soul in Sheol,

nor will you allow your faithful one to see decay.

11You will show me the path of life.

In your presence is fullness of joy.

In your right hand there are pleasures forever more.
