Psalm 112

The Righteous Will Never Be Moved

1Praise the Lord ![#112:1 This psalm is an acrostic poem, each line beginning with the successive letters of the Hebrew alphabet; #Ps. 104:35]

Blessed is the man who fears the Lord ,

who greatly delights in his commandments!

2His offspring will be mighty in the land;[#Ps. 25:13; 102:28; Prov. 11:21; 20:7]

the generation of the upright will be blessed.

3Wealth and riches are in his house,[#Prov. 3:16]

and his righteousness endures forever.

4Light dawns in the darkness for the upright;[#Job 11:17]

he is gracious, merciful, and righteous.

5It is well with the man who deals generously and lends;[#Ps. 37:26]

who conducts his affairs with justice.

6For the righteous will never be moved;[#Ps. 55:22]

he will be remembered forever.

7He is not afraid of bad news;[#Prov. 1:33]

his heart is firm, trusting in the Lord .

8His heart is steady; he will not be afraid,[#112:8 Or established (compare 111:8)]

until he looks in triumph on his adversaries.

9He has distributed freely; he has given to the poor;[#2 Cor. 9:9]

his righteousness endures forever;

his horn is exalted in honor.

10The wicked man sees it and is angry;

he gnashes his teeth and melts away;

the desire of the wicked will perish!
