Psalm 130

My Soul Waits for the Lord

1Out of the depths I cry to you, O Lord ![#Ps. 69:2, 14; Lam. 3:55; Jonah 2:2]

2O Lord, hear my voice!

Let your ears be attentive

to the voice of my pleas for mercy!

3If you, O Lord , should mark iniquities,[#Ps. 90:8]

O Lord, who could stand?

4But with you there is forgiveness,[#7; Isa. 55:7; Dan. 9:9; Ps. 86:5, 15]

that you may be feared.

5I wait for the Lord , my soul waits,[#Ps. 40:1; Isa. 8:17; 26:8; #Ps. 33:20]

and in his word I hope;

6my soul waits for the Lord[#Ps. 123:2]

more than watchmen for the morning,

more than watchmen for the morning.

7O Israel, hope in the Lord ![#Ps. 131:3]

For with the Lord there is steadfast love,

and with him is plentiful redemption.

8And he will redeem Israel[#Ps. 111:9; Luke 1:68; Titus 2:14; Matt. 1:21]

from all his iniquities.
